DAPHabitat was present at the F4F – Forest for Future project event

On June 16, 2021, the online event “Environmental Product Declaration: The path in demonstrating the sustainability of wood products” was held, organized by LNEC within the scope of the F4F – Forest for Future project.

The event's theme, "Environmental Product Declaration - The path in demonstrating the sustainability of wood products", was clearly well elucidated through the presentations made by:

- President of the Sustainable Habitat Cluster, professor Victor Ferreira, who clarified the role of the Cluster Habitat Sustentável and the Environmental Product Declaration Portuguese registration System (DAPHabitat) through “Current challenges for the Habitat value chain” in favor of sustainability and eco-innovation of construction products and services.

- Professor José Dinis Silvestre (Instituto Superior Técnico), who gave a complete introductory presentation on the Environmental Product Declarations in the construction sector.

- Dr. Joaquim Carvalho (Amorim Cork Insulation), who presented on the "Environmental Product Declaration: Environmental Management Perspective - Sustainability", mentioning the benefits of having registered a EPD by the DAPHabitat System for its Expanded Cork Agglomerate (ICB) product from forest origin.

- Engineer Luís Baptista (SONAE Arauco), who explained the reason why an EPD was prepared and other benefits obtained after its registration, through a presentation entitled "Environmental Product Declaration - The path to demonstrating the sustainability of wood products" .

In short, several advantages and benefits of obtaining a EPD were observed both for wood products and for other products in the habitat value chain.
