Update of the IGP and RCP of the DAPHabitat System

The DAPHabitat System informs all its clients, consultants, and verifiers that updates to the program’s main normative documents have recently been published. These revisions aim to ensure greater technical alignment and clarity in the processes of preparing and verifying Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).

What has changed?

The main changes focus on the inclusion of packaging data and energy modeling, as detailed below:

• General Program Instructions (GPI): Relevant technical information regarding energy modeling (sections IV-7 and 8.7.4) has been added, clarifying the requirements for calculating impacts associated with energy consumption throughout the life cycle.
• Product Category Rules (PCR - Base Model):
  • Energy Modeling: Detailed clarification in section 2.12 to ensure consistency across different LCA studies.
  • Packaging Inventory: There is now an explicit reference to the mandatory requirement of adding the product packaging mass (section 5), reinforcing rigor in material accounting.

Additionally, we inform you that the EPD template used by the system has also been recently revised to better accommodate these updates and facilitate the interpretation of environmental results.

The use of the most recent versions of these documents is essential to ensure compliance with the registration and verification processes.
