The UAveiroGreenBuilding project aims to develop and promote the use of EPD

The project UAveiroGreenBuilding, developed by the University of Aveiro (UA) in partnership with the Cluster Sustainable Habitat and the EVRIS Foundation, aims to establish an innovative methodology for rehabilitation and maintenance projects of the UA building, supported by the principles of sustainable construction and circular economy.

In this sense, the project aims to develop a fundamental method in the decision making of products, materials and components to be used in construction, as well as to promote and use Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) as a tool that allows comparison between different products, regarding their environmental performance, and thus choose the one with the best ecological behaviour.

DAPHabitat system is the Portuguese national EPD registration system, in which manufacturers can register their Environmental Product Declarations and thus easily enter more demanding and environmentally sensitive (inter)national markets, identify aspects to be improved and increase the company's prestige.
