REGISTERED EPDS: MEGASA, S.A!

 The GROUP MEGASA is a family-run business specialized in the production and distribution of steel products. In Portugal, the group has two production units located in Seixal, SN Seixal - Siderurgia Nacional SA and SN Transformados S.A., and a production unit in Maia, SN Maia – Siderurgia Nacional S.A., which is largest group's rebar production unit.

The group also has a shredding plant, Ecometais S.A., in which it produces shredded steel scrap resulting from the recycling of light scrap and out-of-service vehicles.

MEGASA is aware that its activity must be carried out in such a way as to guarantee the highest levels of sustainability, quality of its products and maximization of eco-efficiency, and for this reason came to register an Environmental Product Declaration for the ISAC. This Inert Steel Aggregates for Construction is a product that is obtained through the treatment of slag resulting from the production of steel in an electric arc furnace. It can be applied in base layers, landfills on roads, backfill layers, sub-ballast on railways, floors of construction sites, among other applications.

The cradle-to-gate EPD registered in the DAPHabitat System is valid until 2024 and contains information about the life cycle assessment study, as well as relevant information about the ISAC.
